April 3rd to 11th....Salome and North Las Vegas....

The windy weather has passed and we say fond farewells to camping buddies and Salome and head north to the fun city of Vegas....this is the type of road we love and actually turns out to be a beautiful drive, thank you Carole for the route recommendation along The Joshua Forest Parkway of Arizona....
I wasn't able to get good shots of the Joshua trees but plenty of other beauty....

Hey ho.....same day.....US93 N across the valley to the Black Mountains and living up to their name !!! A storm has sprung up and not only thunder, lightening and heavy rain but very strong gusty winds and scary !!!! Yorkieman had his work cut out to keep our home on wheels on the road.....
At least it doesn't say sunny Nevada !!!
But hey ho through past the Hoover Dam and into Las Vegas Valley and back to sunshine....
A few days later we head out through Lake Mead National Park....we spent a lovely week at a campsite here a couple of years ago...the Lake is still very low and only just visible in this pic...
This shot taken just past the Hoover Dam as we go back up into the Black Mountains as although a scary drive down we could see this was spectacular scenery and wanted to revisit...
This and next pic is The Colorado River from a viewpoint on US93....

What a difference the weather makes.....
Almost same spot as pic above....
Much better !!!
While shopping in Summerlin a suburb of Las Vegas we were intrigued by this building, a hotel, a casino....no a shopping mall !!
We have enjoyed our time here, main mission accomplished to sort storage for our return to UK end of May....we had daily fly pasts from the guys of Nellis Airforce Base, fascinating for us....and really enjoyed The Masters...well done Sergio at last winning a major and well deserved....and well done Justin too, who both played to the spirit of the game that is golf....
Tomorrow we move north, just 80 miles to Mesquite Nevada to weather watch for hopeful move into Southern Utah...
More soon from Yorkieman and Mrs Blogger...and still not a water tower !!!!!!

  1. Good to have you back on line and sending us photos of your exploits. I am fascinated and much enjoying the photos of the flowers in the desert. Stunning! You seem to have had most possible weather conditions already, bit of snow and you'll have a full set! Enjoy and take care
